At Clock House Gastrobar, food isn’t just about what’s on the plate, it’s about community, sustainability and supporting local businesses. Alongside our sister businesses, The Meatery and Alfie’s Deli, both located in Market Square, we’ve created a hub where dining, shopping, and butchery come together, all rooted in local sourcing, affordability, and exceptional service.
We’re proud to support Gainsborough not only through food but by championing local businesses. They are the heart and soul of our town, and make our town thrive. But more to come on this in the future.
Local Suppliers
We only work with the best local producers to ensure every dish tells a story of Gainsborough:
- Williamson’s Farm, seasonal vegetables grown nearby, especially garden vegetables and potato side dishes you will see on the Clock House menu’s. The Meatery also supplies their farm shop.
- The Meatery, our own butchers, providing high, restaurant quality, traceable cuts, cooked meats, pies and hot ready-to-eat foods.
- Anna’s Happy Trotters for ethical, outdoor-reared pork.
- Vine’s Artisan Bakery for fresh breads.
- Laughton Beeline Honey for natural, locally harvested honey.
By sourcing ingredients close to home, we reduce food miles, support independent businesses, and deliver dishes that we ensure are flavourful, fresh and ethically produced.
Menus That Celebrate the Seasons
Our chefs design seasonal menu, that reflect local produce and community trends. This summer, for example, our Afternoon teas highlighted strawberry season. Our outstanding chefs make their own compote and use this in our ‘Wimbledon Pancakes’ on the breakfast menu.
As we are heading towards colder weather, there is a rise in the demand of comfort food. A dish I would like to highlight is the ‘Steamed British Beef & Stout Pudding’. We will fill this pie style dish to the brim with prime diced local grass fed beef and only local, British vegetables, braised in British beer, steamed in herb & suet pastry, with Williamson’s Farm potato mash, farm vegetables, beef jus.
By sourcing directly from nearby farms and suppliers, we keep costs fair, delivering exceptional quality and flavour that Clock House Gastrobar is known for. We all want to enjoy fresh food in Lincolnshire and we believe we offer this without compromise.
If you are choosing not to eat local, it doesn’t just mean your food travels long distances. It is often less ethical, more expensive and can be lower in quality. Long journeys can often mean produce is picked early, frozen or treated to survive transit, which can compromise freshness and taste.
One thing many people don’t realise is that, despite the lingering stereotype of British cuisine as bland or like wartime food, we actually excel at making the most of what is around us. Eating local is healthy, sustainable, and done to a high standard here. We can tell you exactly where every ingredient on your plate comes from, creating dishes that are truly delicious.
Quality Service That Brings the Community Together
What truly sets Clock House apart is our people. Our staff know our customers and create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
From regulars grabbing lunch to families enjoying dinner or visitors discovering Gainsborough’s Lord Street, riverside and Market Square, our team makes every visit special. Service is not just a promise, it’s part of the community experience we create every day and defines us.
